A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Hayley and Clark. Hayley was referred to me by a mutual friend and I’m really grateful that she was. When I think about ideal wedding photography clients to work with, I think about people like Hayley and Clark. They were so easygoing and completely in love that I never felt the least bit of pressure in capturing the moments of their wedding day in Scotia.
They welcomed me to their rehearsal dinner and for a minute I forgot that I was the photographer as they made me feel like a part of the family! They’re a wonderful group of people and I’m glad I had the opportunity to speak with as many as I did. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.
After the ceremony, Hayley and Clark hopped in my car and we drove down the road to Freedom Park in Scotia. You may not think “muddy bench next to a baseball field” when you think romantic, but you’d be wrong! When we got to the park, Hayley and Clark led me to the very bench they sat on when they went on their first date. How awesome is that?
The reception was held in the beautiful Turf Tavern in downtown Scotia, New York. It was a reception full of smiles, laughs, tears and delicious cupcakes.
In one of my favorite sequences from the day, Hayley decides at the last second that she wants to put some of the cupcake in Clark’s nose.
Sometimes the timing is just right. When the ceremony ended, it had started to rain, but by the time we’d gone to take portraits in the park down the road, the skies had cleared up and revealed a beautiful light blue with fluffy clouds. Thanks for allowing me to capture your special day, Hayley and Clark!
