Alright New Year’s resolution to blog more, how do ya like this? After having a fantastic time last year, Emily and I went up to The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing, NY for their Glacier Ice Bar & Lounge again this past Sunday. It’s a bar made of ice along with a bunch of sweet ice sculptures (some of which are pictured below). There’s a decent list of expensive speciality cocktails that are prepared for the occasion, but take my advice, the hot cocktails are where it’s at. My go-to is something called “The Avalance,” and it’s $11 worth of hot chocolate, Kahlua, maybe some other booze and chocolate shavings (see below). Most importantly, it’s hot. You’re not there to drink fancy stuff anyway. It’s all about the scenery.

I was thrilled that we went on the afternoon that we did because the clouds were magnificent. I brought along my Canon 6D, my new Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art, my 135mm f2L and my new Canon Elan 7e film camera (blog post to come…when the negatives come back). Check out some of my favorite shots below and seriously, check this event out next weekend!

I took this last one when we made a quick stop by The Algonquin Restaurant in Bolton Landing. It’s definitely one of the most photographed sets of docks on Lake George.
